The paper explores the application of the flipped classroom teaching model in college elective basketball courses. The results indicate that this model is more effective than conventional teaching in enhancing students' basketball skills, tactical abilities, and self-directed learning, with a particularly significant improvement observed in male students. However, it is slightly less effective than conventional teaching in improving male students' strength qualities, while there is no significant difference in the improvement of other physical qualities. The enhancement of basic basketball skills is comparable to that of conventional teaching.
