As integral carriers of historical transportation and culture, ancient bridge heritage possesses historical, scientific, artistic, and social values. Under the current context of the rural revitalization strategy and the integration of culture and tourism, ancient bridge heritage demonstrates unique potential for driving the development of rural tourism. This paper takes the Bian Bridge in Sishui, Jining, as a case study to explore the role of activating and utilizing ancient bridge heritage in promoting rural tourism. By examining the historical evolution and value connotations of the Bian Bridge and comparing it with relevant domestic cases, this paper analyzes the shortcomings in its tourism development. Furthermore, it proposes new pathways for leveraging ancient bridge heritage, using the Bian Bridge as an example, to foster rural tourism development.
